Welcome to the Safety and Compliance Department of the Air Navigation Services Division, your dedicated partner in ensuring the highest safety, quality, and civil aviation regulatory compliance within air navigation services. Led by a team of experienced professionals, the department is committed to excellence in every facet of our operations, contributing to the seamless and secure movement of aircraft across the skies.
The Safety and Compliance Department replaced the Air Traffic Services (ATS) Quality Assurance Department in 2017 to embrace a broader scope of responsibility. The Safety and Compliance Department is entrusted with managing Safety Management Systems (SMS), Quality Management Systems (QMS), and compliance for Jamaica’s Air Navigation Services Provider (ANSP) of AIM, ATM, CNS, Aviation Meteorology and Aeronautical SAR.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to foster a culture of safety, quality, and compliance that permeates every corner of the ANSD. We are dedicated to proactively identifying and mitigating risks, implementing industry best practices, and adhering to international standards to ensure the safe and efficient passage of aircraft under our care.
Function:
Our Safety Management function places paramount importance on protecting lives and assets. We identify potential hazards, assess risks, and implement measures to prevent accidents and incidents. With a comprehensive reporting and analysis system, we continuously monitor safety performance, enabling us to proactively address emerging challenges.
The Quality Assurance team ensures that our services meet the highest standards of excellence. We establish and maintain a robust quality management system, performing audits, assessments, and process reviews to ensure consistent service delivery, customer satisfaction, and continual improvement.
Remaining compliant with the Jamaica Civil Aviation Regulations is our top priority. Our Regulatory Compliance experts closely monitor changes in regulations, interpret their implications, and facilitate necessary adjustments to our operations, fostering adherence to global industry standards.
Data-driven decision-making is at the core of our approach. Our division conducts thorough data analysis to uncover trends, identify patterns, and provide insights that guide our strategies and initiatives, all aimed at enhancing safety, quality, and compliance.
